HSS Alumni Reunion
The School of Humanities and School of Social Sciences held their first alumni reunion on 12 November 2017. It was smiles and laughter all around as alumni reunited with their schoolmates and professors at their alma mater. Professor Alan Chan, Dean, College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, graced the event and announced the restructuring of the Humanities and Social Sciences Alumni Association (HSSAA) into the School of Humanities Alumni Association (SoHAA) and the School of Social Sciences Alumni Association (SSSAA). Aside from a photo collage of alumni's student days, there was a slide show of NTU then and now. Guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet brunch, a delectable spread of desserts, and refreshing cocktails and mocktails. There was a photo booth to record new memories, and alumni received special door gifts as mementos of the event. Like and Follow SoHAA
“Make-It-Yourself” Mooncake Making Workshop
In conjunction with the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, the School of Humanities organized a mooncake making workshop on 17 September 2017 at the ToTT Store. Under the guidance of Pastry Chef Charlynn Gwee, 29 alumni learnt and created their own fuji apple and green apple flavored snowskin mooncakes. After the workshop, the alumni brought home their handmade mooncakes for sharing with family and friends during the Festival.
Art Jamming Workshop
On 19 August 2017, 30 alumni from the School of Humanities had the chance to experience being an artist through an Art Jamming Workshop held at Arteastiq. The participants got to showcase their hidden creativity through the creation of their own art pieces, using a vast selection of painting tools, provided by the art studio. All participants managed to paint an artwork each, which they took home as mementos after the workshop.
Networking Lunch with SSS Alumni
It was another sumptuous culinary experience for 26 Humanities and Social Sciences alumni and their family and friends. Held on Saturday 2 July 2017 at the StraitsKitchen, Grand Hyatt, the alumni gathering provided an opportunity for ex-classmates to catch up while enjoying a gastronomic journey comprising Singapore’s much heralded local delights.

Pottery Making Workshop
How do you make a ceramic bowl? To find out for themselves, alumni from the Humanities and Social Sciences attended a pottery workshop held at The Mud Rock on 4 June 2017. Due to strong interest, a second session was opened and a total of 38 alumni participated in the event. During the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to try out throwing clay on a wheel and hand-building their own masterpieces. All participants managed to craft two pieces of work which they took home as souvenirs after the event.
